Guy Barnard co-founded and is Chief Executive Officer and Director at Synchronous Health, a behavioral health artificial intelligence startup in Nashville Tennessee. He is an accomplished, hands-on senior executive with 30 years of strategy, top-tier consulting and international operational experience. He has a very successful track record in strategy and product development, industry disruption, and company transformation at global scale. He has consulted to many of the world’s leading organizations and employers including the Walt Disney Company, ABC, ESPN, Chevron Corporation, national and regional Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Pfizer, Pharmacia, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, American Healthways, the Royal Bank of Canada, Lloyds of London, Canada Health Infoway, and Lucent Technologies.
Reinventing population behavioral health, Guy’s company Synchronous Health uses an advanced mobile and artificial intelligence platform to provide tele-health services for sponsored populations of Employers, Health Plans, Universities, and Provider Systems. The company brings together seemingly unrelated or inconsequential data and data exhaust to provide real-time, precision interventions at an individual level, and delivers at scale through AI bots, digital experiences, and credentialed networks of licensed professionals.
Guy is a frequent speaker on Artificial Intelligence in health care, co-author on the patents that power Synchronous Health and is a prolific publisher in the open source community, also having invented the Domabot and the Wolfscript programming language for children learning programming using minecraft. He holds a BA and MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University, England and a Masters in Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.
Prior to Synchronous, Guy was Chief Information Officer of a $2B public population health company, Healthways and previously led the strategy and planning functions. He was a principal at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and held leadership positions at BCG and Accenture over two decades in the UK and the US.
A Londoner at heart, Guy lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife Sarah and three sons, as recently featured on HGTV. He is a community volunteer/organizer and widely recognized for fund-raising and charitable activities, as featured in the Boston Globe, the Tennessean, the Nashville Business Journal and by the American Heart Association. He loves to travel with his family, with recent stops in North Africa, East Africa, the Middle East, the Arctic Circle, Sri Lanka, South America and Antarctica.
