Founder and CEO
Kim founded Vivante Health in 2016, a new company tackling the needs of people who have invisible, neglected, and stigmatized diseases. The first product is on digestive diseases which affect 70M Americans. Digestive trouble is something most people don’t want to discuss. It’s understandable—symptoms like diarrhea, constipation, gas and bloating are embarrassing and stigmatized and drastically impact people’s home and work lives. His hope is to destigmatize these conditions by using state of the art psychosocial, clinical, nutritional and microbiome science to improve the lives of these people and to reduce healthcare costs.
Before Vivante, Kim founded Livongo Health, a digital health company which brought personalized and real-time management to people with diabetes and their families. Kim and his team developed the technology, supporting clinical programs, and created and built InTouch, a GSM cellular cloud-connected two-way glucose meter that supports people anywhere and anytime. InTouch was an important milestone in a new generation of two-way wireless devices that are integrated into coordinated and connected care platforms.
Prior Livongo, Kim founded DiabetesAmerica, a network of comprehensive and interactive clinical centers recognized for its pioneering creation of the at-risk model of episodes of care and bundled payment system.
Kim has served as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the Scientific Advisory Boards of the NIH, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
